1. Park Güell: despite the intention of the Catalan government to charge tourists who want to access the park, the Park Güell is still free. It is one of the most important works by the Catalan artist Antoni Gaudí. The park is opened from 10.00am to 6.00pm or 9.00pm (according to the season of the year). You can get there by metro line 3, Lesseps stop, or by bus (numbers 24, 31, 32, 74, 92 and the red line of the touristic bus).

2. Boqueria market: it is the biggest market in Catalonia, full of colors and with a wide food offer. It is located at Las Ramblas of Barcelona and it dates from 1836. Due to the acquisition of the market stalls by immigrants in the last years, there are also stalls with Arab specialties, as well as from South America, Japan, Italy and Greece. You can get to the market by metro line 3, Liceu stop.

3. The Cathedral of Barcelona: it's the see of the archbishopric of Barcelona and it was built between the thirteenth and the fifteenth centures. It is of Gothic style and, along with the basilica Santa María del Mar, is one of the most beautiful churches in Barcelona. It is located in the Gothic Quarter and you can get there by metro line 4, Jaume I stop.

4. Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Heart: located on the mountain of Tibidabo, it is one impressive monument surrounded by nature and next to the Tibidabo amusement park. It has the best views of the city. It was built between 1902 and 1961 in Modernist style. You can get there by the Tibibus from Plaza Catalunya for 2,60 euros.

5. Montjuic Magic Fountain: built on the occasion of the 1929 Universal Exhibition by Carles Buïgas, it is one of the most visited attraction because of its location (it's nearly in Plaza Espanya) and the magnificent show of color and lights offered in the evenings. It is important to know that from 15th November to 1st December and from 9th January to 25th February there is no show. You can get there by metro lines 1 and 3, Plaza Espanya stop.
